The dissertation exam is a state exam. The conditions stipulated in § 63 of Act No. 131/2012 Coll. on Higher Education apply to it.
A full-time PhD student must complete the dissertation exam no later than 18 months from the start of studies, while an external PhD student must complete it within 24 months from the start of studies. In justified cases, the dean may grant an exemption upon the recommendation of the field committee.
The dissertation exam consists of:
- a scientific part – discussion on the written work and evaluation of the proposed methodology of the dissertation thesis.
