The abstract of a dissertation serves as material for members of the dissertation defense committee to familiarize themselves with the content of the dissertation (especially members other than the reviewers and the supervisor), and at the same time as a document informing the public about the conduct and content of this public state examination.
The abstract is a concise summary of the main results of the dissertation and defines its contribution.
The abstract typically has a length of 20–24 pages. The first and second pages must be formatted exactly according to the prescribed template.

The abstract is submitted in the Slovak language or, in accordance with Article 36 of the Study Regulations of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, in English.
The abstract must include a list of all published works of the doctoral student related to the research topic.
The structure of the abstract reflects the main chapters of the dissertation, with the greatest emphasis placed on objectives, methodology, key results, discussion, proposals for practical application, and conclusions.

Formatting requirements:
- Margins: 2.5 cm (on all sides)
- Main chapter titles (Introduction, Objectives, etc.): Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold
- Body text: Times New Roman, 11 pt, justified
- Subchapter titles: Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold
The abstract must be in A5 format.
The doctoral student submits the abstract in PDF format as well as in printed form.
